On private server toplists, rate labels like "EXP 9999x, Drop 100x" reference how much faster players gain experience and receive item drops, compared with official play. These multipliers only make sense in reference to a server's own rules for leveling, resets, currencies and other progression factors.

How rate labels work

Server rate labels make character progression faster by increasing the experience points gained, item drops, and gold currency, compared to playing on official or retail servers.

A server advertised as "100x EXP / 50x Drop" means players earn experience 100 times faster than on official servers and receive items 50 times more often. EXP rate defines how quickly a character earns experience and levels. Drop rate sets how often mobs drop items, upgrade materials, and in-game currency.

The exact multipliers vary between servers. Some very high-rate servers run at 200x or above, with EXP rates up to 9999x.

Why MU Online-style resets change a rate's meaning

In MU Online-style private servers, a reset restarts a character at Level 1 after reaching the server's maximum. It's not a permanent delete but a return to the base level for further growth.

Depending on the server, stat points are either kept or cleared after a reset.

Some MU Online servers require in-game currency such as Zen or WCoins to reset.

On other servers, reset costs can be paid in currencies or items.

Because resets allow repeat runs of the leveling experience, a server’s claimed EXP multiplier only reflects a single progression cycle. If each reset requires reaching a set level again (for example 350 or 400), the effective experience rate over the whole progression changes.

What to check before choosing a server

Server rate multipliers are not universal. They must always be read against the server's level caps, reset rules, cost of resets, and costs of leveling up skills, stats, and gear.

Before joining based on rate, a player should understand:

  • How reset levels, stat, and currency costs relate to the advertised rates
  • The game’s progression systems that affect daily play and long-term endgame
  • How reset rules change how a server's leveling and paying systems interact

Server rates are only multipliers. Always verify a server's rules for leveling and resets against its rate labels.
